Happy New Year from Holsworthy Town Council, we hope you have a wonderful day!

  • Our office is now open and has returned to our usual hours: Monday-Thursday (9am-4pm) Friday (9am-1pm).
  • We will be holding a Coffee Morning in The Memorial Hall in Holsworthy on 11th January from 9am until 12pm.
  • Holsworthy’s Weekly Wednesday Market will be reopening on the 11th January from 9am until 2.30pm.
  • Full Council Meetings & Sub-Committee Meetings will be returning from Wednesday 11th January.

On behalf of the Mayor, Councillors and staff at Holsworthy Town Council thank you to all the volunteers, organisations, Town Band, Primary School, Holsworthy Community College and Youth Club performers that made Holsworthy Christmas Switch on Event happen.

Holsworthy’s Big Switch-On & Christmas Market

This year Holsworthy Town Council have planned an exciting day filled with different activities and entertainment for all ages.

It will take place on Saturday 3rd December 2022 from 4pm to 8pm

Quiet Hour | 4pm-5pm | A quieter hour with reduced noise levels to help those with hidden disabilities.
The aim is to make the Holsworthy Switch-On and Christmas Market more accessible to customers with hidden disabilities and additional needs.

Browse the Christmas Market for last minute presents, treats to yourself or get some creative ideas!

Have a go on a Bucking Bronco Reindeer

Watch on-stage Entertainment

Holsworthy Bowling Club: Charity Bowls Challenge

Holsworthy Bowling club have decided to organise a bowls challenge to fundraise.

Locla Businesses, Clubs, organisations and/or friends are welcome to enter mixed teams of three players to have a great afternoon and help raise funds for the mayors 2 charities.

Tuesday 5th July
Holsworthy Museum ‘History of St Peter’s Fair exhibition’ 11am-1pm Manor Car park, free entry
Launch of the new Arts Society Church Trail, 1.30pm St Peter and St Paul’s Parish Church, all welcome
Meeting of the Court Leet, chaired by the Portreeve in all his finery,
with petitions from its members 7.30pm in the Memorial Hall (doors open 7pm).
Procession from the Memorial Hall with the Town Crier, the Portreeve, members of the Court Leet, to the Ale Houses of the Town for the ‘Ceremonial Ale Tasting’ and the presentation of the ‘Fair Ivy’ to the Landlords.
Wednesday 6th July
8am Proclamation of the Opening of the Fair by the Town Crier on the Site of the Old Great Tree of Holsworthy. Followed by the Bread Weighing Ceremony.
The Portreeve will present certificates plus an invitation to the Children’s Breakfast to children of Primary School age who attended the Proclamation (Venue to be announced on the day).
Charity Breakfast in the Memorial Hall from 8am Organised by Holsworthy Scouts
Coffee Morning and Bring and Buy stall, 10-12noon, Bodmin Street Methodist Church.
St. Peter’s Fair Sale of Fat stock & Dairy Cattle at the Cattle Market from 10.30am
Presentation to the owner of the Best Calf on show by the outgoing Pretty Maid.

LIVE MUSIC in the Square from 8pm (on completion of the Furry Dance) ‘Black Friday All aboard the good ship Black Friday - join her crew and captain Tom for another stormy crossing of the Celtic sea of folk-punk. Supported by ‘Joy Machine’ local covers duo

The Town Council and the other organisations who are taking the lead on the Queens Platinum Jubilee Celebrations are hoping that the whole Town and those of all ages will be able to take part and enjoy the extended holiday to recognise the 70 years of dedicated service by the Queen to the United Kingdom and Commonwealth.
