Miracle Theatre present ‘Love Riot’ – Wednesday 19th June 2024
Miracle Theatre present open-air theatre performance, ‘Love Riot’ in Badock Gardens on Wednesday 19th June 2024 at 6:30pm
Step into a world of etiquette, scandal and matchmaking, with this fresh new take on an 18th century rom-com from Cornwall’s Miracle Theatre.
Promised by her father to the dashing Doricourt from a young age, Letty has worked for years to corset up her wild heart, to ready herself for a dream marriage. But now the much longed-for day has arrived, Doricourt sees her only as a business transaction. Faced with a loveless future, Letty’s heart starts beating again– can she defy convention, shape her own destiny and be free to find love her own way?
This vibrant reimagining of Hannah Cowley’s comedy of manners, The Belle’s Stratagem, takes audiences of all ages on a journey of unexpected twists and hilarious turns, towards a destination where they might all be free.
Celebrate Miracle’s 45th Anniversary with this inspiring show that will captivate adults, families and teenagers – as much as their grandparents! See for yourself why audiences have raved about Miracle Theatre’s past productions:
Everyone welcome, but as a guide Miracle recommends ages 7+, young children to be accompanied by an adult. There is nothing ‘unsuitable’ in this production – lots of children have been enthralled by Miracle’s past productions, people know their child’s preferences! You decide!
Miracle Theatre is Cornwall’s longest running and most prolific touring theatre company. For over four decades, Miracle Theatre has been dedicated to delivering high-quality, inclusive live experiences and making theatre accessible to all, regardless of age or background. The theatre company’s innovative approach to storytelling and commitment to community engagement have made it a beloved cultural institution in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Holsworthy’s Outdoor Market
Holsworthy Town Council will be holding a public meeting on Thursday 23rd March 2023 at 6pm in the Memorial Hall, Holsworthy, to discuss the future of our historic Wednesday Market!
This will be an open and transparent discussion about the market’s past, present & future.
Holsworthy Town Council have been running the Market on behalf of Torridge District Council for 20+ years and have endeavoured to keep it relevant and stable.
Past efforts have included delivering leaflets to holiday homes, shops within Holsworthy and the surrounding areas. We have visited other local markets similar to our own to raise awareness of our historic market and to encourage new traders. We continue to use social media platforms, local media and yearly newsletters to advertise.
We would like to invite the people of Holsworthy to attend our meeting and help us find a solution to moving the market forward.
Everyone is welcome and we encourage all to attend to make your voice heard!
If you are unable to attend, please put your thoughts in writing to Holsworthy Town Council
