We Will Remember Them – VJ Day

On Friday 15th August, Holsworthy commemorated the 80th Anniversary of VJ Day, honouring and remembering all those who fought for the freedom we have today.

The commemoration was led by Holsworthy Mayor, Councillor Jon Hutchings, alongside Reverend Alison Hardy, representatives from the Scouts and the Royal British Legion, along with many others from the community.

VJ Day (Victory over Japan Day) marks the day Japan surrendered, bringing an end to the Second World War. For many, it remains a day of deep reflection and remembrance.

We would like to sincerely thank everyone who joined us in marking this important occasion, paying tribute to all those who gave their lives for our future.
