Holsworthy Library

There are lots of exciting things happening at your local library. In addition to a great range of books you can use your library membership to access free eBooks and audiobooks via the Borrowbox app. We also have free public computers and Wi-Fi as well as printing, copying and scanning facilities. It is free to join the library, and we are a friendly, welcoming space open to all. Free hot drinks are available, and people are encouraged to use the library as a place to relax, work and socialise as well as to find their next great read!

For children, the library offers weekly Bounce and Rhyme sessions, a Saturday Club, craft activities and stories during the holidays as well as the popular Secret Book Quest and Libro’s Friends reading schemes.

We regularly host a Lloyds Community Banker, evening talks and other events so keep an eye out for posters or on our social media and website.

On Thursday 28th August 2025, Holsworthy Town Council attended the Holsworthy & Stratton Agricultural Show.

The HTC stall showcased photos from events held between 2024 -2025, provided information about the duties and responsibilities of the three tiers of local government in Holsworthy (Devon County Council, Torridge District Council and Holsworthy Town Council) and offered a survey to gain an understanding of residents’ priorities, along with a sign-up sheet for volunteers.

Holsworthy Peloton’s Annual Charity Bike Ride

On Sunday 17th August 2025, Holsworthy’s Mayor, Councillor Jon Hutchings, had an early morning start as he was invited to officially set off the riders for the Holsworthy Peloton’s Annual Charity Bike Ride.

Before the event began, the Mayor spoke with a number of participants and welcomed visiting peloton groups from across Devon and Cornwall, including Newquay, Saltash and Ilfracombe.

At 9am, cyclists departed in small groups to take on routes of 25, 42 or 65 miles!

The event was held in support of two local charities: The Holsworthy Area Sports Pavilion and Holsworthy Food Bank.

Holsworthy Town Council would like to congratulate the Holsworthy Peloton for organising such a successful event and thank all the riders who took part to support these important community causes.
